Do my photos get uploaded?
No, and not in the fine-print sense: the finding, the comparing, and even the zip download are computed on your device by your browser. Your photos never touch our servers at all.
What counts as a duplicate photo?
Two kinds. Exact copies (the same file saved twice, even renamed) and near-duplicates: the same photo re-saved at a different quality, resized, or lightly edited. Both are caught and grouped together.
Can it remove burst shots and similar photos?
Honestly: no. Twelve frames of the same moment are different photos to any hash-based tool, including this one. Catching bursts takes actually reading the photos, which is what Tagrly does on whole libraries: fourteen frames of one toast show up as one photo, and you can open the group and pick which one shows.
Can I upload a zip file or a whole folder of photos?
Yes. Drop a folder and every photo inside is checked, subfolders included, or drop a zip archive (a Google Takeout export, an iCloud download, a client gallery) and it is unpacked right in your browser, never on a server. Password-protected zips and rar or 7z archives are not supported; unzip those first.
How many photos can I check at once?

Does the duplicate finder work with HEIC photos?
Exact copies of HEIC files are always caught. Near-duplicate matching for HEIC works in Safari, which can read HEIC natively; other browsers check HEIC by exact match only.
